Introducing KnetMiner GenePage: Cross-Reference Any Gene, Powered by Graph Chat
We’ve updated KnetMiner’s GenePage to make it straightforward for any external application or database to cross-reference genes directly within KnetMiner. Using a simple URL pattern, developers and data providers can link users to gene-specific knowledge graph views across any species we support.
A Simple Path to Any Gene, in Any Species
The URL structure is simple and human-readable. To link directly to a gene page for any species in KnetMiner, use the following pattern:
https://app.knetminer.com/genepage/{Species_Name}/?list={EnsemblGeneID}
For example:
- https://app.knetminer.com/genepage/Triticum_aestivum/?list=TRAESCS6B02G406400
- https://app.knetminer.com/genepage/Arabidopsis_thaliana/?list=AT1G74310
This works for any species available in KnetMiner — simply substitute the species name and your Ensembl gene ID.
Graph Chat: Understanding Your Gene Network at a Glance
The new GenePage doesn’t just show you the graph — it explains it. Powered by Graph Chat, the page now provides an AI-generated summary of the most important connections in your gene’s knowledge graph. Rather than having to interpret a complex network from scratch, users get a clear, natural language overview that highlights what matters most.
And the conversation doesn’t have to stop there. Users can continue chatting with their data directly on the GenePage, asking follow-up questions and exploring gene-specific insights interactively.
Making KnetMiner Easier to Index and Integrate
This update is designed to make it straightforward for external databases, bioinformatics platforms, and analysis tools to link out to KnetMiner gene pages. If your application works with Ensembl gene IDs, integrating with KnetMiner is now just a matter of constructing a URL.
Several platforms already index KnetMiner and link to it directly from their gene pages, including Ensembl, T3, WheatIS, wheat-expression.com, and Grain Genes. We're also interested in hearing from other teams who want to cross-reference KnetMiner data within their own platforms. Get in touch to find out more about how we can work together.
